Jim Petersen is a writer, visual artist, avid reader, and book collector. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, he has lived in Santa Cruz, California since 1974. Jim earned academic degrees in English, Book Arts, and Writing. He apprenticed in book production and publishing for a few years, then worked in Silicon Valley advising business and non-profit clients on brand strategy and communications. He currently serves on the board of the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music. Jim devotes the majority of his creative time to reading, writing poetry, volunteering, listening to music, watching movies, and enjoying time with friends and family.
Jim’s poems have been published in Fourteen Hills and Twenty-Six. Once in a Great While is the first collection of his poetry. He is the founding publisher of Hatleskog Books.
